The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has officially scheduled the 72nd Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) Preliminary Examination 2026 for 26 July 2026 (Sunday). The examination will be conducted in offline (OMR-based) mode across multiple examination centres in Bihar. This recruitment drive aims to fill several prestigious administrative posts in the Bihar Government.

Total Vacancies

According to the revised notification, BPSC will recruit candidates for 1,186 vacancies.

  • Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) / Senior Deputy Collector: 100 Posts
  • Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP): 22 Posts
  • Various other Group A and Group B administrative services.

Note: The total vacancies were revised from 1,230 to 1,186 after the removal of 44 Sugarcane Officer posts.

Important: The Preliminary Examination is qualifying in nature and serves only to shortlist candidates for the Main Examination. The marks obtained in the Prelims are not counted towards the final merit list.

Once released, candidates can download their admit cards by following these steps:

  2. Click on the “72nd Combined Competitive Preliminary Examination Admit Card” link.
  3. Enter your Registration Number and Password/Date of Birth.
  4. Complete the security captcha verification.
  5. Click Submit.
  6. Download the admit card PDF and print at least two hard copies for future use.
